Greece Made First Surprise! |
 Greece made first surprise in the championship. They beat Russia 2,5-1,5. And they drew attention, makes a huge crowd across their tables.
ARMENIA: 2,5-1,5: ISRAEL
GM Aronian beat the last world cup winner GM Gelfand and he survived his team. After the Azerbaijan lost, Armenia team breathed!
BRAZIL :2,5-1,5: EGYPT
GM Leitao (2620) beat GM Amin (2544) and took very important point to his team. Young Egypt team fight well but it is not enough to escape Brazilian's!
GREECE :2,5-1,5: RUSSIA
Greece made first surprise in the championship. They beat tournament favorid team Russia 2,5-1,5. Greece heros are GM Papaioannou (2625) and GM Banikas (2608). GM Jakovenko's effort can't made anything about the match point.
USA :3-1 :INDIA
GM Nakamura (2708) and GM Onischuk (2670) are the snipers of thier team. India team (without a world champion!) can't fight the USA. Also Nakamura showed us, how he can play against the sharp positions.
AZERBAIJAN :3-1: TURKEY
Two young team and two new generation. GM Mamedyarov (2741) beated IM Can (2442) and GM Gashimov (2759) beated IM Erdogdu (2513) in first board. This two scores are enough to pass the neighbor countries team!
